Holger Yeshe Bio

Holger Yeshe was born in Germany and  began practicing meditation in 1999. Since that time, he has studied and practiced in both the Theravadan and Tibetan Buddhist lineages. In 2005, he met Mingyur Rinpoche, and in 2010 he ordained as a Buddhist monk under Rinpoche’s tutelage. During two decades of  study and practice, Holger Yeshe became proficient in the Tibetan language and now serves as primary interpreter for Khenpo Kunga.

After 10 years in Nepal and India, Holger Yeshe is back in Europe and currently helps codirect Tergar Meditation Community e.V., in Germany, offering meditation seminars, coordinating community outreach, giving talks, and providing support for students in their meditation practice. In addition, he works as a contractor for Tergar International editing course material. He has also served as a planning committee member of Mind and Life Summer Research Institute since 2019. Seeing the benefits of meditation practice in his own life and those around him, Holger Yeshe has a particular interest in making meditation accessible and in the intersection between the meditative tradition and Western modes of inquiry.

Holger Yeshe loves mountain biking, going on hikes, and rock climbing. He is usually on the road with no stable home.
